Out with the old, broken electric stove and in with our new, but even older wood burning Waterford Stanley stove!
Also some pictures of what it looked like this morning, as it had been for the last two years in a corner of our garage. 
It makes us so
VERY exciting happenings in the kitchen. After a few adjustments, we are managing with a temporary kitchen for the next week-ish.

After the holiday season finishes I reclaim the Sun Room for a few months. It gets used for sorting wool, storing stuff, we sometime eat in here on sunny days, it even becomes a fridge extension in the coldest months. 
Today it’s a seed sorting
Look at our lovely new bench! It was a freebie. Rusty, with rotten wood and missing slats and now has a new life. Using reclaimed old pine floor boards retrieved, with permission, from a local skip, a bit of Hammerite and a lot of care and attention
First day integrating into the flock for our little chicks today. No problems at all, mostly thanks to their feisty mum (the white hen with her wee bouffant hairdo) who is the best mother hen. I’ll be so reluctant to see her go home, but she is

Samhain, Fiddler’s Green Style! Roast pumkin, sweet potato and bacon soup. Home made bread rolls straight out the oven, cheese and home pickles.

Glorious Samhain dawn walk with the house this morning.Watching the sun rising and looking down the coast to see the lighthouse at Tarbat Ness shining out.
